The Trades Industry Conference is very pleased to announce our second keynote speaker will be Steve Keating. Steve will be speaking on day two of the Trades Industry Conference as part of the Conference Day 2 Welcome portion of the program.
Queensland Government Update
Steve will outline activities of the DITID’s Special Projects Unit and will also touch on how SPU is the State Government’s key agency. This includes the $3.6 billion Queen’s Wharf Development, leading the State’s procurement of Global Tourism Hub projects in Cairns and potentially the Gold Coast and progressing ecotourism trails developments in Queensland.
About Steve Keating
Steve Keating – Keato – has more than 25 years’ experience in media, communications and stakeholder engagement.
His career has varied from regional journalist and newspaper editor to advisor and confidant for successive Premiers to lead communication roles in Queensland Treasury’s Commercial Transaction Program (2010), Queensland Reconstruction Authority (2011) to four fun years in stakeholder roles with Origin Energy and APLNG.
Three years ago he returned to the State Government as the Executive Director – Stakeholder Engagement Special Projects Unit (SPU), in the Department of State Development. His current role in SPU is not limited to supporting the $3 billion Queen’s Wharf Brisbane. It is also assisting the government with other integrated resort opportunities namely – Tropical North (Cairns) and potentially the Gold Coast.
