Touching Base with the ABCB – Neil Savery

The last few years have witnessed the ABCB invest significant effort into reviewing and implementing a new WaterMark Certification Scheme and conducting research into a number of significant plumbing subjects to determine whether there is a need for regulation.  At the same time the Plumbing Code of Australia has been the subject of piloting the ABCB’s readability principles for the 2019 National Construction Code and the contemporising of its provisions.  Looking ahead is new research into lead in plumbing products, responding to the analysis of point of sale for plumbing products and the review of WaterMark Technical Specifications.

Inspectorate and Activity Overview / Penalty Infringement Notices / Risk Based Approach to Regulation – Daryl Brooker

Construction Worker Suicide Prevention – Paul Bryan

Paul will touch on the program ‘Mates looking after Mates’, and will teach us how to interpret possible negative changes in our friends, family and co-workers. From this session, we will gain a basic understanding of how to help someone who might be in a time of need.

Are we micro-managing ourselves sick, or are we micro-managing ourselves well? – Paul Spinks

Paul regards mental and physical health at the top of the list when it comes to our overall performance, and especially in the workplace; without this not only do we under-perform at home, but we most definitely won’t perform at work. Paul takes us for a straight talking, no nonsense journey into our personal lives, including his own, and challenges us all how to reset and rethink well before we find our mental health spiraling, often undetected and out of control.
